SO YOU WANT TO GET A TATTOO?

Brighter, longer days have arrived and so has our busiest time of year. Due to our hectic schedules, we are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The demand for custom art has drastically increased and we are currently booking in advance.

BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT - We are in the shop six days a week, however we prefer not to be interrupted while working and suggest that you book in advance. Because of the nature of our work, the artists are unavailable to receive/return phone calls during the workday and messages will be returned at the earliest convenience. The best way to communicate is through e-mail. Most general enquiries and info can be found on our website, FAQ/Aftercare.

THE DESIGN PROCESS - Custom art takes time and there is much you can do before booking an appointment. Because we don't know you and we are designing something you will wear forever, you must offer us some direction. Do not expect us to know exactly what you want. A loose idea, feeling or image is a good place to start. We suggest you gather your ideas, do some research, and submit some reference. Do not worry about how the images will fit together, we are artists and will find a creative way to incorporate the ideas into your vision. There is no charge for a custom design, however there is a minimum wait of one week. If you would like to see a complete sketch and colour study there is a minimum wait of two weeks plus a $20 charge. We do reserve the rights to the design and will not release it to the client unless other specific arrangements have been made.

PRICING - The cost of a tattoo depends on the size and amount of detail. Tattoos that can be completed in one session (3 hrs and under) are priced by the piece. Anything above and beyond will be charged by the hour ($100/hr). It is very difficult to quote a piece that we have not seen. We suggest that you do not limit yourself by price.

"Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good"

GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME - We realize that your time is just as valuable as ours and we will do our best to accommodate you. A tattoo is not something to rush into and the majority of focus and time should be placed on the design process. We discourage planning around events, dates, vacations, etc. as often impulsiveness leads to unhappiness and bad judgement. With the right amount of planning and preparation we will create something perfect for you that will last forever.

SEASON’S GREETINGS!

It’s that time of year…
Winter has definitely arrived! Besides being the most festive time of year, it is also the best time to heal a tattoo. Because in summer we see so much skin, the urge to get tattooed is strong. We see awesome ink on other collectors, get great ideas, and get inspired. The last thing on our minds is factors that will affect and in some cases damage our new works of art. People nowadays are becoming much more tattoo-savvy and better informed. More consideration and research is being put into the preparation and planning of tattoos. Though the time of year you get tattooed is not crucial, it is something to consider. The benefits of tattooing during the colder months are many. Some of the things to consider are the location of the body, the size of the piece and the number of sittings. Because we wear more clothing during colder months there is always a layer of material protecting the skin from physical and environmental dangers. Being exposed to excessive sunlight/ U.V.Rays (including tanning beds) will hinder the healing process. One of the greatest dangers your tattoo faces is sunburn, which can prematurely fade colours and blur softer lines. Once you have finished healing, we still suggest you use sunscreen during summer months. Another important factor while healing is to prevent soaking the area. A fresh tattoo is an open wound and soaking it in water is one of the main ways the tattoo can become infected. Public water such as pools, hot tubs and ocean/lake water should be avoided until the healing process is complete. So cheer up and don’t get the winter blues…get the blue, the pink, the orange and red! Nothing is better than well made plans and you have all the time in the world. A tattoo is something you live and grow with and taking the time to plan everything out is important. Everything must be perfect, forever.

TATTOO WARS on TLC Thursdays at 8p.m. Episode 4 of Tattoo Wars has just aired. Don't be surprised if you haven't heard of this hidden gem. TLC has done the bare minimum of promotion and advertisement for this show. It is refreshing to finally find a good educational show about tattoos. This show focuses more on the actual art of tattooing rather than the drama and exaggerated lifestyle found on other reality shows. Featured artists include Guy Aitchison, Aaron Cain, Nikko, Tom Renshaw, Deano Cook, etc. The show airs Thursdays at 8p.m. and replays at 1a.m. Missed episodes can be seen on YOUTUBE. If you like what you see, be sure to contact TLC and let them know you want to see the show run again and to see more of this kind of programming.
