I have been tattooing professionally for eight years. I have always been artistic and became interested in tattooing very early and started experimenting. Following my apprenticeship I worked in studios all over Toronto before settling in at Planet Ink on Yonge St. for six years. After acquiring many years of knowledge and working alongside professional artists I decided that it was time to strike out on my own and opened up in the back of Cut N’ Run, a well-known urban barbershop located on the Danforth. After about a year I found the need to expand in order to accommodate my clientele and RED9INE became more than just a vision.
Focusing on custom creations, I specialize in black and grey and have tattooed art of all genres ranging from classic to my own personal urban style. I create designs that are unique to each client using reference provided by them combined with my own creativity.
Artistic influences of mine include H.R Giger, Luis Royo, Boris Vallejo, M.C. Escher, Olivia, etc. I appreciate art in all forms and experiment with different media and ideas. I am here to inspire and make the world more beautiful one person at a time.
Formal Education
I graduated with a degree from Ontario College of Art and studied furniture design at Sheridan College.
Tattoo Education
I’ve been lucky enough to receive guidance from Bill Baker and Shane Faulkner in my pursuit of tattooing as a career.
Artistic Influences
I have a passion for custom culture kitsch and low brow art particularly Robert Williams, Todd Schorr and Coop.
I enjoy working in a variety of artistic styles while employing diverse imagery to create truly custom work that fulfills my client’s desires.
I am the one in charge! I manage the studio and am learning the art of tattooing. Managing a tattoo studio is quite different than I expected but combining miscellaneous reception and office experience has made the transition quite easy. My educational background is in law and I have studied both Paralegal and Law Clerk at Seneca College. I have always been creative and have experimented with both visual arts and fashion design.
I am also a tattoo apprentice. Learning how to tattoo is a very big decision. There is a lot more to it than anyone thinks. It takes focus, dedication and patience.
My artistic influences cannot be limited to just one thing, but everything. The world is waiting to be explored. I believe that everything should be appreciated and can be interpreted. Learning and understanding opens doors you never knew existed.
